Danielle Rubin: For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated with animals. I've always kind of felt a very strong connection with them, you know, so I made the decision to go vegan. I realized I didn't feel comfortable using animals in that way for food when there was an alternative.

Hi, I'm Danielle Rubin and I am a web developer here at the Humane League.

I allowed myself to really start learning about factory farming, about the system, about how animals are treated within it. Actually, right around the same time as I started really deep diving into web development with the kind of intention of becoming a software engineer. And I remember hoping that someday I might get to kind of meld the two worlds, so you know, use that skill set to help animals in some capacity. As a web developer, helping to build out digital products in support of THL's campaigns is really so rewarding. So, it's that kind of ability to have a direct impact. And at The Humane League, I have been given the opportunity to do just that, to use my tech skills in service of a mission I really deeply care about, which is creating a better world for animals raised for food.
