We were named one of the most effective charities for reducing animal suffering. Here's why.
As we close out another monumental year in our shared fight to end factory farming, we are proud of the collective progress we made for animals raised for food—progress that would not have been possible without our global community of animal advocates.
And now, the progress we made together was recently recognized by Vox in its 2024 list of the most effective charities for reducing animal suffering.
Vox cited our 2024 recommendation from Animal Charity Evaluators (ACE)—where we were named one of the most effective animal protection organizations for our national and global corporate campaigns to improve the lives of egg-laying hens and chickens raised for meat, along with our legislative advocacy.
For eleven consecutive years, The Humane League has received this distinction from ACE (and is the only charity to have earned this yearly distinction since ACE began its annual evaluations).
As we celebrate our 20th anniversary in 2025, we are grateful to have worked alongside our changemakers to improve the lives of countless animals around the globe, and are excited to keep protecting animals in the year ahead.
