Samara Mendez

Former Staff | Samara conducted research at The Humane League Labs between 2018–2021. Her research lies at the intersection of agricultural economics, industrial organization, and public policy. She studies the effects of economic policies on participants in food systems, with a special focus on the impact of these policies in industries with market power and/or incomplete information issues. Samara possesses a wide variety of skills in both theoretical modeling and statistical analysis, and she specializes in using observational data to statistically estimate economic structures. She holds a Ph.D. and a Masters in Economics at the University of Colorado Boulder and B.A.s in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Texas Austin.
