Volunteer Captain Terms

You agree to serve as a Changemaker Captain with The Humane League (“THL”) for a term of at least six months. You may continue in this volunteer role at the end of those six months.
Because this is a volunteer role, you may discontinue your participation at any time for any reason, and THL may discontinue this position for any reason not prohibited by law.
You agree to work under the close observation of THL.
You understand that as a volunteer, THL will not provide you with financial or other assistance, including, but not limited to medical, health, or disability benefits or insurance.
You agree to demonstrate honesty, punctuality, courtesy, a cooperative attitude, and a willingness to learn. You agree to obey the policies, rules, and regulations of THL and comply with THL’s business practices and procedures. During your term, you may come across confidential information.
By submitting the Captain Confirmation Form, you acknowledge that you must adhere to THL’s confidentiality policy, which is included in the Changemaker Handbook.
At the conclusion of your volunteer role with THL, you must return all organization-owned property, equipment, and documents, including electronic mail or other information.
By submitting the Captain Confirmation Form, you grant THL permission to use photographs and/or video recordings (“Photos”) taken of you in the course of your role with THL in any and all of its publications, including websites and campaign materials. You authorize use of these images without compensation to, or approval from, you; you further authorize THL to edit the photos. You agree that all Photos shall be the property of THL.
By submitting the Captain Confirmation Form, you irrevocably grant THL permission to use Photos that you capture in the course of your role with THL, in any or all of its publications, including websites and campaign materials. You authorize use of these images without compensation to, or approval from, you; you further authorize THL to edit the photos.
You understand and agree that THL will own any intellectual property that you create in your role with THL.
By submitting the Captain Confirmation Form, you understand and agree that you assume all the risks of participating as a volunteer in THL’s Changemaker Network, including activities in which you participate. In consideration of the opportunity to participate in this program, you agree to hold harmless and release and forever discharge THL, its affiliated organizations, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from all causes of action which you, or any other persons acting on your behalf, have or may have as a result of your participation in this program. You further agree to indemnify and hold THL, its affiliated organizations, directors, officers, and employees harmless from any liability and loss which THL may incur by reason of any injury, financial or otherwise, arising out of your volunteer relationship with THL.
