OWA members continue to drive change for animals in the region.

The Open Wing Alliance (OWA) recently hosted its Europe Summit.
Under the theme "Relentless," 71 animal advocates from 28 organizations (including The Humane League and The Humane League UK) and 26 countries came together for powerful discussions on corporate accountability, campaigning, and pushing the global animal protection movement forward.
The OWA summit—held in Porto, Portugal—covered topics such as the European Chicken Commitment (ECC)’s Road to Change, the importance of cage-free standards and labeling, factors to consider before launching a national legislative campaign, holding companies accountable to their corporate animal welfare commitments, strategies to keep corporate campaigning effective and impactful, and much more. Advocates across the region collaborated throughout the week, sharing resources, successes, and challenges in workshops and presentations.
OWA Europe member organizations have worked tirelessly for years to campaign against the most powerful companies in their countries, influence the biggest egg producers in the continent, and support and advise other OWA members in the process. Alongside coalition members around the world, they will keep working to end the abuse of all chickens raised for food.
