FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 16, 2020 The Humane League launched The Fast Action Network, a digital platform for individuals to take action online to help fix our broken food system and end the abuse of animals raised for food. During a time where critical issues within our meat industry are being exposed more than ever, the platform is a free and effective tool for creating change digitally, from the comforts of home. Activists are encouraged to get involved today in the public campaign against Tyson Foods.

“Amidst the global pandemic, we at The Humane League set out to create a simple and achievable way for people to stay active while at home and take action on issues impacting animals and public health, regardless of their location or the situation they may be in,” said David Coman-Hidy, President of The Humane League. “Through easy, digital actions like signing a petition against factory farming or posting on social media to support our corporate animal welfare campaigns, individuals from all around the world can join the fight to fix our broken food system and end the abuse of animals raised for food.”

A public campaign is currently underway against Tyson Foods, the largest poultry company in the United States, to demand that the industry giant stop neglecting public health and finally do right by both the workers and animals victimized behind their closed doors. With over 4,500 positive cases of COVID-19 tied back to Tyson facilities, the massive corporation has been in the spotlight for refusing to take meaningful steps to protect its workers and public health at large, all while millions of animals suffer in its unsanitary factory farms.
